Leisure Growth: When Princess Cruises introduced two new
ships in 2004, it did so without the involvement of Steiner
Leisure, a dominant provider of spa services to the North
American cruising industry. Instead, Los Angeles- based Princess
decided to operate the ships' spas itself. But within a year, the
cruise line's experiment was over, and in January 2005 it had
signed with Steiner to provide spa services aboard all its ships,
including the newest fleet additions.
Intelligent Spas has released a new series of Spa
Operating Procedures, Policies & Forms Manuals to assist spa
businesses raise service standards, improve customer
satisfaction, create and maintain spa ambience, implement
employee training and reduce costs associated with waste and
inefficient processes.
Wellness Capital Management recently announced its launch
as the only provider of comprehensive cash flow management and
financial strategies to businesses in the wellness industry.
Expert Medi-Spa Advice: Medical Spa Consultant & Laser
Hair Removal Authority Provides Expert Advice on Medi-spas and
Medical Spa franchises in Skin Inc. Magazine. "Laser Hair Removal
can be the most profitable procedure in any medical spa," says
Kile Law, owner of Blue Water Spa, a plastic surgery
medical spa in Raleigh, North Carolina. "The key", Law continues,
"is the right laser." In the November 2005 issue of Skin Inc.
Magazine, Law offers physicians and prospective medical spa

First and foremost, according to Law is safe and effective
technology. The article discusses all technology in a medical spa
including computer software, LED systems and of course aesthetic
lasers for a variety of indications.
Thai Spa Gears Up For The World Market In ISPA 2006. A
selection of Thai world-class spa products and concepts are set
to be unveiled to the global spa marketplace during the ISPA
2006 Thailand International Spa & Wellness Conference and
Exhibition to be held on May 3-5, 2006 at the Queen Sirikit
National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.
Wall NJ Spa Venture is Cutting Edge. Ryan Loughman sits
back in a barber's chair at Shaves (Wall, New Jersey) as a
straight razor glides across his face. "It is a unique
experience," says the 29-year-old Wall resident. "A lot of spas
you go to are more geared to women. This is more geared to men."
The thing you won't find at Shaves - part barber shop, part spa -
is one of those red and white striped barber poles. Shaves, which
opened about six months ago on Warren Avenue in Wall, is
different: a place where men can go to get a hot shave, hair cut,
manicure or pedicure. Customers can even buy a cigar there or
bring in their own beer or wine.
Allure Magazine readers have named their favorite spas,
salons, and beauty shops in 11 cities. Find the top picks on page
63 of the current issue of Allure. The

Sparring for Healthy Bottomlines. Spas have been touted
as the biggest trend to hit the hospitality and tourism
industries on a positive and profitable note, worldwide. But in
India, hoteliers need to rework the concept to make it a
viable business element, discovers Vyas Sivanand.
Coldwater Creek (Nasdaq: CWTR - News), the national
retailer of women's apparel, jewelry, accessories and gifts,
recently announced plans to expand on its legacy of providing
exceptional customer service as it tests a new concept --
Coldwater Creek Spa. The day spas, scheduled to open in
spring 2006, will serve six geographically distributed markets,
offering a complete menu of spa treatments, including massage,
facials, manicures and pedicures.
Ex-Day Spa Employee Charged With Sexual Battery Of Client.
A former employee at one of South Florida's most popular day spas
has been accused of sexually assaulting a patron, and a civil
suit has been filed against the company that hired him. Ivson
Brazil, a former employee at Contour Day Spa, has been
charged with sexual battery, and the woman who came to the spa
wanting a Turkish bath is seeking damages.
Global TransNet Launches Simply Unique Spas. Global
TransNet Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: GBJT) launches Simply
Unique Spas to develop and manage Day Spas and Medical Spas.
