Natural
Salt Lamps
Our SpaWire Sponsor for November 1, 2004: Natural-Salt-Lamps.Com
Our beautiful, natural Salt Lamps release negative ions in abundance when heated by either an electric light bulb or a flame. When lit, they give off a warm red glow which brings harmony and the beauty of nature into your living space. In addition, since our personal health depends largely upon the air that we breath, the cleaner the air we take in, the healthier we are. "An environment rich in negative ions has a wonderfully positive effect on your physical, emotional, mental, and even spiritual health." Use our salt lamps in your waiting areas or relaxation rooms to create a comforting atmosphere; during massage therapy; yoga classes; or anywhere else you want to restore or preserve the natural air quality. Wholesale prices are available to our spa, salon and wellness customers. SpaWire Promotion: During the month of November 2004, Natural-Salt-Lamps.Com and SpaWire will award a beautiful Natural Salt Lamp to a registered SpaWire Forum participant. If you have not signed up and participated in a SpaWire Forum discussion, visit the site and do so today. A registered participant will be randomly selected in December 2004 by SpaWire.Com to receive one of these lovely lamps.

Medical Spa
Makeovers Gone Wrong
CBS News Oct 29, 2004 (CBS) The latest trend in personal beauty - botox - is injecting even more money into the $11 billion spa industry. "It's a war out there actually," says Ronda Howara, owner of a medical spa in Los Angeles where you can have your nails done, hair lasered off and face fixed - all in one visit. Howara's spa is supervised by a plastic surgeon, and the botox and lasers are only dispensed by nurses. But, as she tells CBS News Correspondent Sandra Hughes, that is not always the case.
Top Six
Sanitation Errors in Spas
PR Leap and Spa Secure, Nov 4, 2004 Spa Secure issues list of most sited problems during onsite spa visits. "Typically spa directors and owners are nervous when we physically go through their site to look for sanitation issues, licensure and scope of practice given each technician's licensure, training, education and skill sets. However, even spas that are going the extra mile to do everything correctly are missing the mark when it comes to a few basic considerations," says Melinda Minton, founder of The Spa Association and Spa Secure, who recently created a short list of things to look for in your spa.
