We are an accredited school. Accreditation is your assurance of independently
verified adherence to teaching standards. Look for a school accredited
by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA). At this
time, DIHA is the only COMTA accredited school in Arizona. This is
worthwhile to you as a student because COMTA recognizes schools that
adhere to stringent curriculum requirements, testing procedures and
management of school practices. The Desert Institute is also accredited
by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of
Technology (ACCST). Both agencies are recognized by the U.S. Department
of Education.

The Arizona Board of Cosmetology, mandated to
protect the public, issues 12 categories of
licenses to individuals who qualify by
reciprocity or through the Board's
administration of a written and practical
examination; to salons; and to schools. The
Board enforces regulation by inspections, by
investigation of consumer complaints, and
conducts hearings and imposes enforcement action
when appropriate.
The day to day operations of the Board are
overseen by an Executive Director appointed by
the Board, agency staff members, and an
Assistant Attorney General assigned to the
Board. Office operations include
Administration, Licensing and Examinations, and
Enforcement. The Board is a regulatory agency
for the professions of Cosmetology and Nail
Technology.
Members of the Board are appointed by the
Governor for three year terms. A.R.S. § 32-502
establishes the composition of the Board and
length of terms |

of massage modalities, all while heightening
their sensitivities to the body and soul. In
these fast-paced and ever changing times, the
Arizona School of Integrative Studies presents
her students with the education and place to
discover what it can mean to be a health care
practitioner. Also offered at the ASIS are
Massage Teacher Training, Advanced Sports
Massage, Spa Director Training, Flower Essence
Certification, Yoga Teacher Training, Personal
Trainer Certification, and a myriad of weekend
